Completed in 1910, 1220 West Van Buren was a 115,000 square foot masonry building with a storied legacy. For decades it was the home of Chicago’s own Oxxford Clothes, a 100-year-old manufacturer of bespoke men’s clothing. To this day, they’re still the only American clothier tailoring custom garments by hand — a painstaking process that requires 165 steps to produce just a single jacket.

1220 West Van Buren embodies both the relentless spirit and commitment to craft of its original tenant. Rebranded “The Oxxford”, this historic building has been renovated with an eye toward an even more illustrious future, providing a strong foundation for the next generation of pioneering Chicagoans.
